About the Book

Marking 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in public offce, ModiNomics — A Journey of Inclusive Growth offers a definitive account of his governance and economic philosophy. From Jan Dhan to Ujjwala, Swachh Bharat to Digital India, it explores how millions were brought into the mainstream of development with speed and scale.

The book examines both the vision and the outcomes—financial inclusion, welfare delivery, infrastructure, and digital empowerment—that have shaped India's transformation. It asks the vital question: has Modi delivered on the promise of inclusive growth, and how far has India travelled on this journey?

Accessible yet analytical, this is not only a chronicle of policy innovations but also a verdict on their impact. A compelling read for policymakers, scholars, business leaders, and citizens alike, ModiNomics captures India's story of ambition, resilience, and inclusive progress under Modi's leadership.

Excerpts from the Book

It was February 2014. My book, ModiNomics, had been released a few days earlier and I found myself seated across a senior minister of the UPA government. The minister was curious, genuinely interested in my firsthand impressions of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the man increasingly seen as the opposition's prime ministerial candidate. After exchanging pleasantries, I posed a question that had been on my mind: "What do you think the election results will look like, given his rising popularity?"

The minister leaned back thoughtfully. "We might lose some seats," he admitted, "but we will come back. Perhaps with a diminished majority but a bigger coalition."

I pressed further, intrigued by his confidence. "But what if Modi wins an absolute majority?" His response was immediate, unguarded and surprisingly candid. "Then we would have made a big mistake."

He had no inkling of the landslide victory looming on the horizon for Narendra Modi—a victory that would redefine India's political landscape.

N Chandrababu Naidu
